Woman hospitalised after refusing to fart in front of boyfriend

The phrase is literally ‘better out than in’

A woman was hospitalised after being too embarrassed to let rip in front of her hubby, choosing instead to hold in her farts for long periods of time.

Viviane de Queiroz Pereira, also known by the alias Pocah, told her 15.7 million followers that she was too embarrassed to fart in front of her partner. She further claims to have watched a TikTok that told her to ignore discomfort, reports Metro.

However the pain eventually got so bad she sought medical attention.

“I’m now fine. Just an accumulation of trapped farts,” she said via Instagram live, which was followed by videos of her in a hospital. “Girls, don’t be ashamed to fart in front of your guy.

“Because what’s really embarrassing is not letting your guy sleep because you’re in discomfort, going to hospital with your guy, and the diagnosis being ‘trapped farts.’ From now on, I’m letting them rip, guys. I’m medicated and I’m fine.”

A similar case was experienced by 90 Day Fiancé star Stephanie Matto, 31, who also landed herself in hospital. The self-declared “fartrepreneur” claimed to make six figures selling her farts in jars.

In order to keep up with the demand, she changed her diet by upping her protein intake the week before Christmas. She quickly realised she “overdid it.”

“I was feeling kind of weird all throughout the day, but it got really bad when I lay down in bed that night,” she told Rolling Stone. “I had this squeezing tightness feeling around my heart. And it was so uncomfortable and it was getting worse. I would breathe in and I wouldn’t be able to breathe in all the way because it would feel like a tightening around my heart.”

Upon laying out all her symptoms for doctors, the medical professionals were stumped as all tests came back “perfect.” While discussing her change in diet, the doctors speculated that Matto was experiencing “really bad gas pain.” Naturally, she was prescribed gas suppressants and urged to avoid huge diet changes.

Both women are now happy and healthy, and presumably letting it rip when they see fit.
