This handy tool will calculate exactly what time you need to go to bed

JOE

Many people claim to know exactly how much sleep they need, but loads of us still find ourselves feeling knackered when we get up in the morning.

You can try all the basic tips – don’t eat late at night, drink more water – but perhaps a more scientific approach is needed. And that’s where a website called sleepyti.me comes in.

Based on their research that a good night’s sleep consists of 5-6 sleep cycles and that it takes the average person 14 minutes to fall asleep, the website generates a number of options for when you need to go to bed depending on what time you need to be up in the morning.

It will also tell you what time to get up at if you go to bed right now, depending on whether it’s a nap or a deep slumber you’re after.

Some will rail against such a scientific approach to sleep – most people obviously prefer just to sleep when they feel tired.

But if you find that you’re not yourself due to your sleeping habits, surely it’s worth a shot, right?
