Nothing like the good ol tan-pump combo!

He doesn't really have to look far for inspiration. His father is arguably the greatest bodybuilder of all time.

Arnold Schwarzenegger won seven consecutive Mr. Olympia titles before retiring in 1980. While this feat has since been bettered by Lee Haney and Ronnie Coleman, Schwarzenegger is the man who took bodybuilding into the mainstream.

How Arnold Schwarzenegger's son Joseph Baena trains in the gym

Arnold Schwarzenegger's son Joseph follows a similar workout routine to his dad, using a combination of heavy, compound lifts alongside isolation exercises to build muscle.

Baena recently visited Gold's Gym - referred to as the Mecca of bodybuilding - with former Gladiator Mike O'Hearn.

In the 1975 documentary Pumping Iron, Schwarzenegger described how his training was always in the pursuit of the 'pump'. Baena says similar, claiming that he prefers training triceps before biceps as it 'gets the pump going' and is a bigger muscle.

After conquering the Mr. Olympia world, Schwarzenegger then took Hollywood and US politics by storm. If Baena comes close to a third of that, he will have done alright.

Baena celebrated his 23rd birthday on October 2nd.

Arnold posted the following tribute on Instagram, complete with the caption "Happy birthday @projoe2! I love watching your progress with your training, your work, and in every part of your life. I can’t wait to see what's coming next. I love you!"

Not sure about Schwarzenegger's Photoshop skills, but the sentiment is there. It also shows how Arnold realises his son's bodybuilding potential.
