Bodybuilder and influencer Justyn Vicky has died in a freak workout incident in a gym in Bali.
The 33-year-old was strength training when an attempt to squat-press 460lb (210kg) went badly wrong.
He was rushed to hospital with a broken neck and critical compression of vital nerves connecting to his heart and lungs.
Surgeons performed an emergency operation, but despite their best efforts, the fitness influencer died shortly after.
Vicky, who is originally from Indonesia, was trying to extend his legs when the heavy bar weighed down on his shoulders meaning he was struggling to stand upright.
A spotter who stood behind him was unable to assist as he fell to the ground and the stacked barbell fell onto the back of his neck.
Tributes have been quick to flood in since his sad passing.
Gede Sutarya, a close friend of Vicky, said: "Vicky was a good person, polite, and sociable. He always shared knowledge about the gym. He also advised friends at the gym to be cautious and not exceed their capabilities during training.
"Only we ourselves can measure our own abilities. May Mas Vicky rest peacefully in the embrace of God and find a worthy place."
Another friend described the fitness guru as a 'good person, polite and sociable," before adding: "He always shared knowledge about the gym. He also advised friends at the gym to be cautious and not exceed their capabilities during training.
"Only we ourselves can measure our own abilities. May Mas Vicky rest peacefully in the embrace of God and find a worthy place."
The Paradise Bali gym, where the tragedy happened, also expressed their condolences on social media, writing: "To our dear Justyn, your impact on our lives is immeasurable."
The post continued: "Your legacy will live on through the countless lives you've touched, the transformations you've inspired, and the love and passion you infused into every moment we spent together.
"Rest peacefully, dear friend. You will forever remain in our hearts."
