It's looking like contestants will have two giant creepy dolls to deal with

Squid Game season two is finally confirmed to be on its way after months of rumours - and not only do we have confirmation direct from the horse's mouth - but we've even got word of what could be a game-changing new character: the Squid Game doll's boyfriend. Oh good, now there are two of them... That's right, after the second series was officially announced on Sunday evening after Netflix tweeted a short clip of the show's now-infamous doll counting down and revealing a number two in her eye, the streaming giant went on to reveal a note from writer, director and executive producer, Hwang Dong-hyuk, explaining what fans might be able to expect in the next season. [caption id="attachment_341582" align="alignnone" width="959"]Squid Game 2 doll boyfriend Credit: DVDPrime[/caption] As well as returning characters like Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) and the doll itself, Young-hee - not to mention the possibility of "the man in the suit with ddakji" popping back as well - Hwang revealed that the Red Light-Green Light doll has a partner. As many on social media have noted, Young-hee is based on a popular children's character seen in Korean textbooks throughout the 1970s and 1980s, alongside which was her boyfriend, Cheol-su - the pair essentially doubling as an equivalent to Jack and Jill. https://twitter.com/YOO_I_/status/1536140726756642817?s=20&t=sUToYB_-7mP1qaGhHAVQiA   While we know literally nothing about the next series other than what Hwang himself has already confirmed, our best guess would be that his introduction might have something to do with the classic nursery rhyme. It would be very Squid Game to ruin a children's nursery rhyme by turning it into a game with obscene levels of violence, wouldn't it? Fans are already reacting to the news of his inclusion, though we suspect he wouldn't be as friendly-looking as this: https://twitter.com/jimincalicoes/status/1536154733630865409?s=20&t=sUToYB_-7mP1qaGhHAVQiA
