Speaking to Screen Rant, the 48-year-old actor said: “In my mind, it would be something if Chris Nolan ever said to himself, ‘You know what, I’ve got another story to tell’. And if he wished to tell that story with me, I’d be in.”
Bale said the pair had always discussed the idea of sticking to a trilogy, saying: "Let's make three films, if we're lucky enough to get to do that. And then let's walk away. Let's not linger too long." But added that while people around him had often claimed to have heard another was on its way, nothing had advanced.
Meanwhile, following The Batman cementing itself as one of the biggest releases of 2022, we now also have confirmation that we will be getting a Joker 2 thanks to an Instagram post from Joaquin Phoenix. It is thought Lady Gage is also in talks to play Harley Quinn.
As for Bale, the Welsh-born British actor is currently doing press for Thor: Love and Thunder - the fourth film in the Asgardian Marvel franchise and in which he looks absolutely terrifying as the main villain, Gorr the God Butcher.
