Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s child introduces their new name at grandads funeral

The 15-year-old announced his new name from the altar at the ceremony.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner went through a very public divorce in 2018.

The couple were married for thirteen years, and share three children together – an 18-year-old named Violet, a 15-year-old formerly named Seraphina Rose and a 12-year-old named Samuel.

The pair seem very amicable nowadays, and appear to be doing a great job of co-parenting their three kids.

Affleck has famously re-married his former love Jennifer Lopez, while Garner has been in an on-and-off relationship with entrepreneur John Miller since 2018.

Garner lost her father William earlier this month at the age of 85. A couple of weeks ago, a memorial service was held to honour his life at the Christ Church United Methodist Church in Charleston, West Virginia.

During the ceremony, Affleck and Garner’s middle child took to the altar to read a passage from the Hebrew Bible. Sporting a buzzcut, they addressed the room by announcing: “Hello my name is Fin Affleck.”

The memorial service was streamed on the Christ Church United Methodist Facebook page.

Fin then proceeded to read Chapter 16, Verse 8 from the Book of Proverbs: “Better is a little with righteousness, than a large income with injustice.”

According to Style magazine, Fin is very close to their step-siblings Max and Emme Muñiz.

Lopez’s eldest, Emme Muniz, also uses gender-neutral pronouns.

Children from both families were pictured on a day out with Ben and J-Lo recently at Disney’s Magic Castle.

JLo first publicly introduced Emme’s pronouns to a crowd at the LA Dodgers Foundation’s Blue Diamond Gala where they both performed in June 2022.

“[The last time] we performed together was in a big stadium like this, and I ask them to sing with me all the time but they won’t,” Lopez said onstage.

“So, this is a very special occasion, because they’re very, very busy and booked and pricey. They cost me when they come out, but they’re worth every single penny because they’re my favorite duet partner of all time.”
