The player has denied all wrongdoing
VFB Stuttgart player Atakan Karazor was arrested alongside another man while on holiday in Ibiza, the club confirmed on Saturday.
Karazor was arrested after an 18-year-old Spanish woman claimed she had been raped and ended up in Can Misses Hospital in Ibiza, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Both Karazor and the other man – who is unnamed – appeared before a judge in Ibiza Town in a closed court hearing on Friday after initially being questioned by police.
Local reports state that Karazor and the other man were arrested on Thursday June 9, despite initial beliefs that they were both held on Wednesday.
Stuttgart confirmed that Karazor had been arrested
The 25-year-old denies all wrongdoing and the club released a statement to confirm the news while also refusing to comment any further.
It said: “VfB midfielder Atakan Karazor has been arrested while on holiday in Ibiza. He denies any criminal act.
“VfB is in constant contact with its lawyers.
“Since this is an ongoing process, we ask for your understanding that VfB cannot comment further for the time being.”

Both men have yet to be charged with any crime as formal charges in Spain are only laid shortly before the trial but are currently being treated as ‘investigados’ under Spanish law, meaning they are are being formally investigated as part of a criminal probe into a suspected sex attack.
The 25-year-old joined the German top-flight side in 2019 from Second Division club Holsten Kiel and has made 63 appearances for the club, scoring two goals and helped Stuttgart to narrowly avoid relegation as they finished 15th.
