Jim White is cranking it up to nine and half, that garish yellow is creeping into more and more elements of the Sky Sports News set and graphics and they keeping cutting to a digital display ticking down to the end of the transfer window like the doomsday clock.
We are now just two days away until it SLAMS shut (as it always does) so the final round of deals are starting to get done.
If you’re struggling to keep up, here’s a quick round-up of what has happened today in the transfer market.
Done deals
Two Premier League clubs have broken (or “smashed” if you’re reporting it on Sky Sports News AITCH CUE) their transfer record today, as the sheer amount of money sloshing around in top flight football continues to boggle the mind.
First up Southampton spent £16million of the cash they had after selling Sadio Mane, Graziano Pelle and Vincent Wanyama on Sofiane Boufal.

Barely was the ink dry on Boufal’s contract when West Brom also broke their transfer record with a £13m deal for Tottenham’s Nacer Chadli.

Weirdest transfer of the day
Remember when Manchester City paid a whopping £22million to sign Joleon Lescott from Everton?
That was weird enough, but his latest move is even more unexpected. After a miserable year at Aston Villa that saw the club relegated from the Premier League, Lescott has left Villa Park to join Greek side AEK Athens.

Comeback kings?
Asamoah Gyan is largely remembered for quitting Sunderland to sign for Abu Dhabi side Al-Ain for what was reported to be four times his wage with the Black Cats.
He later moved to Chinese club Shanghai SIPG where it was said he was earning an eye-watering £227,000 per week.
So it was something of a surprise when he was linked with a move to Championship side Reading.
He is expected to have a medical today and join the club on loan before the Wednesday evening deadline, with Shanghai SIPG set to cover a big chunk of his wages.
Another Premier League returnee could be ex-Bolton defender Marcos Alonso.
The former Real Madrid youth player is currently with Serie A side Fiorentina, but is now reportedly in talks with Chelsea over a £23m move to Stamford Bridge.
The one we didn’t see coming
Arsenal defender Calum Chambers is being linked with a loan move to Middlesbrough today, which is a deal we did not see coming, but one which actually makes a lot of sense.

The 21-year-old signed for £16m from Southampton two years ago and has played 59 times for the Gunners in that time.
But after Arsenal brought in Rob Holding from Bolton and with the club about to sign German international defender Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia, first team action for Chambers may be hard to come by.
Meanwhile Boro are trying to consolidate their place in the Premier League and could do with a bit of top flight know-how.
