Pep Guardiola left startled after being chased down by shouting fan in Manchester

Why are some people like this?

Pep Guardiola was less than impressed when a late-night bike ride through Manchester was disrupted by an over-zealous fan recording him.

The Manchester City boss was out and about in the city centre on his bike when a fan saw him cycling in the distance.

While the man could’ve chosen to do the right thing – which, obviously, would’ve been to allow the Spaniard to go about his business untroubled – he actually proceeded to shout after the 51-year-old.

When Guardiola didn’t respond to him, the fan pursued him on his own bike, filming the encounter on his phone.

In footage posted on TikTok, the City manager can be seen turning down an alleyway near Parsonage Gardens in Manchester with the fan shouting: “Oi Pep, let me get a picture bro!”.

Guardiola continued to ignore the request and carried on with his journey, which led the fan to follow him down the alleyway before proceeding to shout: “Oi Pep”, before telling the camera “nah, nah you need to see this”.

The Spaniard eventually came to a stop at the end of the narrow alleyway, with the fan continuing to beg for a picture. Guardiola said “okay” and agreed to a selfie.

However, the 51-year-old was visibly annoyed by the situation (with good reason) and refused the man’s attempt at a fist-bump before carrying on his journey.

It remains unclear when the footage was taken, but it was posted in the early hours of Monday morning.

Man City begin pre-season training

City began their pre-season campaign earlier today (July 11), with the reigning Premier League champions set to spend this week in Manchester before embarking on a tour of the United States at the weekend.

Guardiola’s side will face off against Mexican side Club América in Houston and Bayern Munich in Green Bay as part of their pre-season campaign.
