Mourinho has his eyes on one job in particular

José Mourinho is keen to return to the Premier League next season after becoming frustrated with the lack of financial backing at Roma.

The Daily Mail have said that Mourinho’s ideal scenario would be a return to Stamford Bridge to manage Chelsea for a third time.

Mourinho has reportedly informed the Chelsea hierarchy that he would be willing to take over if the vacancy became available, but the two-time European champions have said they intend to stick with Graham Potter at the helm.

A return to England is the serial winner’s top priority. His wife and children all still live in London and a move back to the top flight would allow him to be reunited with them.

Under his guidance, Roma won the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League last season and currently sit fifth in Serie A.

But despite boasting an array of talent, which includes the likes of Paulo Dybala and Tammy Abraham, the Portuguese isn’t happy with the lack of financial resources at his disposal to help the Giallorossi mount a challenge for the title.

Other Premier League options could become available, with West Ham United boss David Moyes coming under increased pressure amid their relegation battle, but it is believed that Mourinho wouldn’t be interested in a move until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, officials at Roma have been left furious with Nicolo Zaniolo after he refused to meet with Bournemouth to discuss a move to the club, despite the prospect of the Cherries offering him a significant pay rise, as per Sky Italia.

Bournemouth met the club’s asking price of £26.4m for the 23-year-old however he refused to even meet with the executive delegation that travelled to Rome by private jet to meet with him.
