Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards provided an amazing reaction to Kylian Mbappé’s late winner for Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.

PSG were facing off against Real Madrid in the first leg of the round 16 tie at the Parc des Princes stadium in a game which also saw Lionel Messi miss a penalty – which was saved by Thibaut Courtois.

With it looking increasingly likely that a goal-less draw would be the end result, Mbappé proved why he is one of the best players in the world with a moment of magic.

An exquisite ball from substitute Neymar found the Frenchman skipping past Lucas Vazquez before bending the ball into the bottom right corner – cuing pandemonium amongst the home fans in Paris.

It wasn’t the only place where people were in awe of the 23-year-old’s winner, with Henry, Carragher and Richards struggling to hold back their excitement whilst working for CBS.

The trio’s reaction is exactly what most of us watching at home were like as well:

Henry and Richards in particular seemed most excited by Mbappé’s goal, with Richards heard shouting “Kylian!” before later exclaiming “what did I tell you?” – inciting that he predicted an outcome like this would happen.

After rewatching their reactions, the former Manchester City defender continued his praise by saying: “That’s my man Kylian, I’ve backed him since day one.”

Mbappé had been at the centre of the headlines in the build-up to the game due to the constant rumours that he will be a Real Madrid player next season but despite all the talk, he delivered on the big stage yet again.

The Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of this season and it still looks unlikely he will commit to signing a new deal at the Ligue 1 giants.
