Former Plymouth Argyle striker Marvin Morgan dies aged 38

Rest in peace, Marvin Morgan

Former Football League striker Marvin Morgan has sadly died at the age of 38.

Morgan played for several clubs over the years with his two best spells coming at Aldershot Town, where he scored 25 goals in 93 appearances and at Shrewsbury Town, where he scored 15 in 82 games.

The Manchester-born striker started his career out at Wealdstone back in 2008 and went on to play for the likes of Plymouth Argyle before most recently dropping down to non-league where he featured for the likes of Bath City, Beaconsfield and Potters Bar.

Morgan finished his playing career at Isthmian League Premier Division side AFC Hornchurch in 2019, where he featured six times.

One of Morgan’s former clubs, Hendon FC, took to Twitter to pay their respects to the former forward who made seven appearances for them in 2018/19 season.

“We are shocked to have learned this morning of the passing of Marvin Morgan at the age of just 38 years old,” they tweeted.

“Marvin joined us at the start of the 2018/19 season and had a big influence in his 7 appearances.

“Our thoughts are with his friends, family and loved ones today.”

Meanwhile another of his former clubs, Hartlepool United, also tweeted: “We are shocked and saddened to have learned this morning of the passing of Marvin Morgan at the age of just 38 years old.

“Our thoughts are with Family and friends of Marvin. Rest easy, Marvin.”

Outside of football, Morgan launched his own fashion brand known as ‘Fresh Ego Kid’ which was seen worn by several Premier League stars and celebrities and became hugely popular in the fashion industry.
