Footage captured from the stands at Anfield appeared to show Bruno Fernandes gesticulating to be subbed off when Manchester United were 6-0 down.
United were beaten 7-0 by Liverpool in their worst-ever defeat since 1931 on a humiliating night against their rivals.

While many underperformed, Fernandes was singled out the most for his display, both as a player and also for his leadership on the pitch.
Shortly after Mohamed Salah scored the Reds' sixth (and in doing so became Liverpool's all-time leading Premier League goalscorer), co-commentator Gary Neville spotted something else on the pitch.
"Bruno Fernandes is stood in the centre circle with his arms raised asking: ‘Why is it me not coming off?'," Neville said. "Honestly, I have to say some of his behaviour in the second half has been a disgrace."
Neville guessed that Fernandes was left frustrated after Erik ten Hag chose to replace Marcus Rashford with Anthony Elanga instead of him.
Sky cameras failed to show the incident but footage from the stands backed up Neville's claims. In the video, the midfielder can be seen throwing his hands around, asking to come off.

After the game, Neville and Roy Keane both gave damning assessments of the Portugal international's performance and said that he was "embarrassing."
"Bruno Fernandes can wind you up sometimes because of the way he is, but that was appalling in the second half," said Neville.
Keane added: "Fernandes' body language today was nothing short of disgraceful. A really talented boy, he's your captain, but his body language, waving his arms, not running back, you wouldn't be happy with him in your dressing room."
