Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister compares Man United’s treatment to crucifixion of Jesus

Bit dramatic

Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister has compared her sibling’s current situation at Manchester United to the crucifixion of Jesus.

Ronaldo refused to come on as a substitute in United’s 2-0 win against Tottenham on Wednesday night, leaving Old Trafford altogether before the full-time whistle.

As a result, manager Erik ten Hag has opted to drop the 37-year-old from his squad for their visit to Chelsea on Saturday and banish him from the first-team and train with the under-21 squad.

Ten Hag has been praised by many for asserting his authority. During his press conference he said: “I am the manager, I am responsible for the culture here. I have to set standards and values and have to control them.”

However one person is not so happy with the Dutchman’s treatment of Ronaldo… the forward’s sister.

Katia Aveiro, who has previously defended her brother, slammed Ten Hag’s decision in an Instagram post and compared his treatment of Ronaldo to Jesus’ death.

She wrote: “No-one who was born to shine by the hands of God will be undone by someone who has never worn his shoes. He is and will be history.

“There is a verse in the bible that says: ‘This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.’

“He fulfilled the promise he made as a 13-year-old boy to his mum and siblings. This is the one whose accent was made fun of and was mocked over his alcoholic dad.”

In addition to her lengthy caption, Aveiro also posted a series of stories to Instagram to add further insult to Ten Hag while praising Ronaldo.

United travel to west London to face Graham Potter’s Chelsea where three points at Stamford Bridge will see them leapfrog their opponents into the Champions League spots.
