Zachary Levi described Peterson as a man of ‘integrity’

Joe Rogan has once again been trending on Twitter after calling out Jordan Peterson for deadnaming Umbrella Academy frontman Elliot Page.

Rogan, who is no stranger to inflammatory and deliberately divisive rhetoric, spoke on the incident alongside Shazam actor Zachary Levi, 41. On his controversial podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, Levi and the 54-year-old sports commentator said Peterson’s recent Twitter ban was ultimately because he deadnamed Page.

“Remember when pride was a sin? And [dead name] just had her breasts removed by a criminal physician,” the 60-year-old clinical psychologist wrote.

While Levi did dub Peterson a deep thinker and a man with “a lot of integrity”, he also spoke about how the Canadian has “his own things that people have issues with.” That’s putting it lightly.

“Like, I get it. Nobody’s perfect,” he added.

Rogan continued: “He’s kicked off Twitter right now.

“I think that was the number one thing. The dead-naming.”

But in the process, Rogan deadnamed the actor himself, leading many to speak out on social media. Others were frustrated that Rogan diminished Peterson’s attack to be just about deadnaming.

Levi continued to say: “It’s sad, man, because again, it’s just like, there’s a lot of fear and pain on all that. All the side of all that too.”

On the wider debate surrounding gender identity, which Rogan has contributed to himself, he said: “[It] riles people up.

“They start thinking it’s a mistake… They start thinking all kinds of things.”

He also said that everyone is for “everybody doing whatever they want to do” until it’s gender.
