Ouch!
A man in Indonesia has snapped his penis after having “vigorous” sex with his wife in the cowgirl position, claiming to have heard the “cracking sound.”
The 44-year-old from Bali was in excruciating pain after his penis popped out and his wife crashed down on top of it. The case has become public knowledge after being shared in the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports.
The unnamed man was having sex with his wife when disaster struck. After his wife slammed down onto his penis, the erection vanished immediately and left his appendage hanging at a right angle.
For some reason, the man waited three hours before seeking medical attention, having grown concerned when his penis swelled up, and blood trickled from the tip.
Ultimately, doctors were forced to “de-glove” his penis, which involves peeling the skin away to reveal injuries. He’d ruptured his urethra, the tube inside the penis that transports urine, and surgeons soon discovered a 3cm fracture in his shaft’s spongy tissue, which swells with each erection.
After repairing the damage, doctors gave the man erection medication to ensure no blood was leaking from the top.
After 21-days, the man had made a full recovery and was able to maintain an erection and urinate as normal.
“The most common vigorous sexual position was doggy style,” doctors wrote in the report. “Another study also reported that penile fracture usually occurs if the woman is in a superior position.”
Urologist Dr Muhlis Yusuf has warned that men refraining from treatment because of embarrassment risk increasing the issue.
