Cockroach

For a small donation, you can get some sweet, petty revenge on a certain someone

Dartmoor Zoo is once again offering people with “bitterness in their hearts” the chance to get a cockroach named after their ex to mark Valentine’s Day.

Zoo staff hope to help people get rid of “negative energy” by naming one of the insects in honour of someone else.

And, of course, this isn’t just limited to someone you may have gone out with, even though an ex may be the first person that comes to mind for most people.

You could choose a nightmare boss, a mate that you fancy getting one over on or you could even honour your current partner with a cockroach in their name if you’re running out of original gift ideas.

By donating £5, £10 or £15 to the zoo, you’ll get the cockroach named after the person of your choice and a customisable certificate featuring your chosen name to show your support.

The proceeds will go towards caring for the too’s animals and supporting conservation efforts, so you can feel good about yourself as well.

In a full statement on their website, a zoo spokesperson wrote: “This Valentine’s Day, name a cockroach in honour of that un-special (or special) someone in your life!

“For a £5 donation to Dartmoor Zoo (or more if you’re feeling generous!), name one of our cockroaches after someone who’s been ‘bugging’ you and receive a customisable certificate for you to edit, featuring your chosen name to show your support.

“If you have bitterness in your heart or unresolved anger towards an ex, a boss, or whoever has been a thorn in your side, this is the perfect opportunity to channel those feelings and get rid of any negative energy!”
