I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here sign up major boyband star

Steve Hopkins

Nigel Farage is also in talks to join the show

JLS star Marvin Humes is set to go join I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

ITV bosses believe the performer’s career in an X Factor boyband combined with his new life as a primetime presenter gives him a broad appeal for the show set in the Australian jungle.

Marvin, 38, is said to have the backing of his wife, The Saturdays singer and This Morning presenter Rochelle Humes, 34. The couple have presented smash BBC gameshow The Hit List since 2019.

According to reports Marvin’s fellow This Morning star, Josie Gibson will also be joining him Down Under.

The Mirror reports that Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall is also in talks to take part and other celebs in the frame include former EastEnders star Danielle Harold, Sam Thompson, Fred Sirieix, Nick Pickard, jockey star Frankie Dettori, weather presenter Alex Beresford and former The Big Breakfast presenter Denise Van Outen.

The Sun quoted a source as saying that Marvin would be a “brilliant signing.”

“Not only is he known to fans of The X Factor and fans of JLS, but the audience for The Hit List and This Morning spans from kids right through older viewers.

“And with Rochelle’s backing, he’s got a ready-made fan base.”

The source continued to the publication that TV bosses, supposedly, hope Marvin will make use of the famous jungle shower to showcase his physique which he’s kept in tip-top condition over the course of his 15 years in the public eye.

“He’ll have lots of showbiz stories to tell, too, from his 15 years in the limelight,” they added.

Meanwhile, former MEP Nigel Farage has revealed he was in talks with ITV bosses to swap London for the jungle.

Speaking on his GB News programme, the former UKIP party leader revealed he was “seriously considering” offers made to him by ITV.

He told viewers: “Several times since 2016 I’ve had I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here say to me ‘come into the jungle’. And they’ve always offered me really quite substantial sums of money to do so. And I’ve always thought, ‘No it’s probably not the right thing for me to do.'”

Farage admitted that bosses would have a secure answer within 48 hours of him addressing the speculation.
