‘The jungle retreat awaits’

The first teaser trailer for I’m A Celebrity…Me Out of Here has landed.

After former football Jill Scott was crowned Queen of the Jungle – ahead of Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner and former health secretary Matt Hancock in 2022 – the show looks set for an imminent return. although an official air date is yet to be released.

Ant and Dec and ITV shared the teaser over the weekend.

It opens with a picture of a very long swing bridge into the jungle, with voice-over telling viewers “far, far away… the jungle retreat awaits”. It then shows some sun loungers that participants will never use. A remote beach is then glimpsed before the VO continues, “come away with us”.

“Yeah, I doubt it would be relaxing there (if you’re a celebrity),” one person commented.

Another requested a confirmation date.

Last year the show aired in early November due to the World Cup, but it is thought this season will hit TV screens around the middle of next month, The Huffington Post speculated.

The camp will also return to the iconic jungle in Springbrook National Park, which is in New South Wales, HuffPost said.

Ant and Dec will be just down the road in a studio in Dungay.

This year’s participants are yet to be revealed, although Love Island’s Olivia Attwood has been put forward as a possible contestant. Having initially signed up last year, the reality star had to withdraw after just a few days due to medical issues.

During a recent appearance on Loose Women, the 32-year-old even admitted that there had “been conversations” with show execs.

Coronation Street star Alan Halsall is also rumoured to appear, with a source telling The Sun that the actor was getting ready to be welcomed to Down Under.

“Alan is a top lad with bags of personality so ITV are over the moon he’s in talks to join their 2023 cast,” they claimed.

Radio Times suggested other possible starters include This Morning presenter Josie Gibson, rugby player Danny Cipriani and even former PM Liz Truss – although this is pretty unlikely, not least because a head of lettuce outlasted her as PM.
