The bombshells keep on coming
Britney Spears has revealed the two-word text Justin Timberlake allegedly sent her to end their relationship in 2002.
Spears, now 41, dated the singer-turned-actor, 42, for three years from 1999 to 2002 with the pair meeting when the Baby One More Time star was 17 and Timberlake was 18 on The Mickey Mouse Club. They split after Timberlake reportedly cheated on Spears with another celebrity. The Baby One More Time singer made the revelation in her new memoir, The Woman In Me, along with the fact she was pregnant with Timberlake’s child before they decided to terminate the pregnancy.
Spears’ book is available Tuesday.
After Spears and Timberlake split, the Cry Me A River singer went on to marry Jessica Biel in 2012. The pair have been married for over a decade and together 16 years and share sons Silas, eight and Phineas, two.
Spears married Jason Allen Alexander in 2004, but called it off two days later. From 2004 to 2007 she was married to Kevin Federline, then went on to marry Sam Asghari in 2022. They split earlier this year. Spears shares sons Sean, 18, and Jayden, 17, with Federline.
In yet another pre-book release reveal, the New York Times reported that Timberlake is said to have dumped Spears by text which left her “devastated” and considering quitting showbiz. The publication has seen part of the memoir in advance.

Following their break up, Timberlake released his hit song ‘Cry Me A River’ – which people assumed to be a dig at his ex, especially as it featured a woman that Spears described as looking like “me and cheats on him”. Spears has since admitted she kissed her choreographer Wade Robson, tho some media reports suggest there was more to it.
Page Six has since revealed the text Timberlake is said to have sent to Spears, who said he “blew the best thing he ever had.”
The breakup is said to have happened while Spears was on the set of the ‘Overprotected: The Darkchild Remix’ music video in Los Angeles.
Towards the end of the second day of filming, director Chris Applebaum told Page Six that Spears went missing for 20-40 minutes.
When the director later found the performer in her trailer she was sitting on her floor with her legs crossed, crying as her makeup smudged.
Spears then held up her phone to Applebaum, saying: “I can’t believe it. Look it. This happened.”
She showed him an apparent text from Timberlake that read, ‘It’s over!!!’
According to an earlier report byb Page Six, Timberlake is “concerned” about Spears’s book release, although it seems a lot of the bombs have already dropped.
“He’s very curious what she’ll reveal from their relationship,” one insider said.
“It’s eating at him.”
Speaking to People, Spears said her memoir was just about having an opportunity to tell her own life story.
“Over the past 15 years or even at the start of my career, I sat back while people spoke about me and told my story for me,” she said.
“After getting out of my conservatorship, I was finally free to tell my story without consequences from the people in charge of my life.”
Timberlake didn’t mention Spears by name in his book – Hindsight: And All The Things I Can’t See in Front of Me – but made clear he was a changed man, crediting his wife and sons for his transformation.
In 2021, Timberlake wrote in an open apology that he was “deeply sorry” and would “take accountability” admitting that he had “failed” her, after their relationship came under fresh scrutiny following the release of documentaries looking into Spears’ conservatorship.
