Secret Cinema reveals its Captain Jack Sparrow

Secret Cinema has found its Captain Jack Sparrow, with Olivier Award winner George Maguire set to lead its upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean immersive experience, according to Digital Spy.

The experience, officially titled Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Immersive Adventure, is due to launch on 10 March 2027.

It will take place at Secret Cinema's new flagship venue on Greenwich Peninsula in London.

Maguire won't be the only familiar face joining the pirate crew. Phil Daniels, who has appeared in EastEnders and Quadrophenia and featured on Blur's Parklife, will portray Captain Barbossa.

The supporting cast also includes Lily Blunsom as Elizabeth Swann, Harrison Wilde as Will Turner and Gleanne Pucell-Brown as Anamaria.

More performers are expected to be revealed ahead of the opening, with Variety also covering the casting news.

Matt Costain will direct the production, with two-time Emmy Award winner Jason Sherwood responsible for its design.

The project is being brought to life by Secret Cinema in collaboration with ticketing company TodayTix.

The two-hour event will combine live performances with carefully chosen scenes from the original 2003 Pirates of the Caribbean film.

Instead of presenting the movie as a conventional screening, the production will use the footage to help bring its pirate-filled world to life around the audience.

Secret Cinema says visitors can expect to find themselves immersed in a story featuring pirates, rogues and unlikely heroes, with Jack Sparrow at the heart of the action.

The aim is to make guests active participants in the adventure, allowing them to experience the story as it unfolds around them.
