Singer Britney Spears has asked fans to respect her privacy after the police were called to her home.
In a statement on Twitter, she spoke about how she felt "gaslit" and "bullied" after the incident.
She wrote: "As everyone knows the police were called to my house based on some prank phone calls. I love and adore my fans but this time things went a little too far and my privacy was invaded.
"The police never entered my home and when they came to my gate they quickly realized there was no issue and left immediately."
She then addressed how she felt when the story was reported in the media.
"This felt like I was being gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the news and being portrayed once again in a poor and unfair light by the media. During this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans who I care so much about can respect my privacy moving forward."

It's understood that a police visit to the star's home by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office came after fans alerted them, concerned by the singer's social media activity.
Britney's appeal for privacy comes just weeks after her husband, Sam Asghari called out the "disrespectful" treatment of his wife in public.
After the gossip website TMZ reported on the couple behaving oddly in an LA restaurant, Sam told another TMZ reporter that Britney got "frustrated" after she was filmed while out dining.
He said: "When you sit down to have a meal and people get their cameras out and start filming you, it’s disrespectful. But, you know what it is, it comes with the territory and that’s it!"
