Sharing inspirational quotes is a sign of low intelligence, study claims

JOE

We’ve all got friends who share inspirational quotes on social media.

You know the sort – a generic background overlaid with some words that will ‘make you think’.

Well it turns out sharing these messages could be a sign of lower intelligence, at least according to the brilliantly titled study ‘On the reception and detection of pseudo-profound bullsh*t’.

The study found that ‘both ontological confusions and religious belief were positively correlated with bullsh*t receptivity.’

‘Bullsh*t is a consequential aspect of the human condition,’ the study’s conclusion explains.

‘Indeed, with the rise of communication technology, people are likely encountering more bullsh*t in their everyday lives than ever before.’
