Can you notice anything strange about this man’s fingers?

See it?

Can you see it?

A Reddit user, rdelly_21, posted an image of his brother’s fingers showing the difference between the two. At first glance it just looks like a normal pair of hands.

It’s very hard to see but if you look at his right hand you’ll notice that he doesn’t have any creases at the knuckles of two of his fingers, his middle and ring fingers.

Take a closer look you can see it here:

He captioned the photo, “My brother doesn’t have creases on the upper portion of his middle and ring finger (right side).”

A lot of people have been commenting and giving their opinion on what happened. After one person suggested that he might have a fused finger joints he replied saying, “That must be the case!! He cannot bend them at the distal joint of those two fingers.”

Another person added, “He might have nerve damage. The wrinkling is an autonomous reaction to moisture to grip wet things.”

The absence of distal interphalangeal creases of fingers with flexion limitation (we’ve checked this up in a medical journal) is often genetic, and here’s the scientific blurb:

“Absence of the distal crease of a finger is often associated with a flexion deformity. The malformation is caused by an autosomal dominant gene with full penetrance and variable expressivity, and causes only minimal inconvenience. The malformation is not associated with any other anomaly.”

Phew! Good to know.
