John Wick to be made into video game with voices provided by the cast

Paul Moore

Essential for John Wick fans

Throughout the history of video games, there have been some truly iconic weapons we’ve all got to unleash.

We’re thinking about the red shell in Super Mario Kart, the gravity gun in Half-life 2, the magnum in Resident Evil. The list goes on.

Simply put, everyone has their favourite weapon of mass destruction but super assassins will know that one weapon tops them all. A pencil. A fucking pencil!

Oh yes, not only is the Boogeyman returning in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum but he’s also got a brand new video game for fans to get stuck into.

As stated in the official synopsis from Good Shepherd Entertainment, John Wick Hex is being created with the close cooperation of the creative and stunt teams behind the films.

We’re told that the game will be “fight-choreographed chess brought to life as a video game, capturing the series’ signature gun fu style while expanding its story universe”.

“Players must choose every action and attack they make,” the synopsis reads, “while considering their immediate cost and consequences. Every move in John Wick Hex feels like a scene from the movies, and every fight contributes to your progress on the job and requires precise strategic thinking.”

Ian McShane and Lance Reddick will both lend their voices to the game, as well as other actors from the films who will be revealed at a later date. At present, there’s still no confirmation that Keanu Reeves will be providing his dulcet tones, but we’re optimistic.

The game is going to feature an original story and the further you progress, more weapons, suit options and locations will be unlocked.

Each weapon changes up the tactics players will use and the manner in which they’ll play. Ammo is finite and realistically simulated, so time your reloads and make the most of weapons you scavenge on the job.

Here’s a brief taste of what’s in store.
