Epic Games continue to impress gamers
Fortnite, if you are not aware, is a ludicrously popular video game which - in its Battle Royale mode - puts 100 players against each other in a bid to see who comes out on top to claim a Victory Royale.
The free-to-play game, which involves players sky diving onto an island without weapons before equipping themselves with guns and building materials, has an enormous and loyal group of players.
Part of the reason for this loyalty is the work of the game's developers, Epic Games, who have consistently updated the game with fun, innovative and fan-friendly compliments to what is at its core a simple and addictive game.
One such update, which was revealed in Fortnite's in-game news update service, announced that a rocket would be launched on the island on Saturday evening.
Hints that something was about to happen were circulating among the gaming community prior to this, but the update confirmed that the rocket would indeed be launched.

Well, Saturday evening came and so did the rocket launch, and fans of the game were not disappointed at all.

Now, the main question here is what does this all mean for the game? Will strange things start happening on the map, as has occurred with the introduction of extraterrestrial-style gems which give players the ability to jump extremely high?
Or, as many predict, will it lead to the predicted destruction of Tilted Towers, one of the games most famous locations. Only time will tell.
