Eric Hites weighs 560lbs (254kg) , lost his job and saw his marriage slipping away – and to cap it all off he’s just turned 40.
But the man obviously just thought ‘f**k it’ and pulled a Forrest Gump.
Now he’s started an epic journey across America to win back his wife and lose the weight.

He says he was inspired by the Proclaimers’ track ‘500 Miles’ and has been blogging about his crazy fitness challenge, which started back in June in Massachusetts, on his website ‘Fat Guy Across America’
Eric is averaging between five and eight miles a day and has already lost 60lbs. But he’s currently stuck in Rhode Island after buckling his wheel.

He’s waiting for it to be repaired, but says he’ll strap his trailer to his back and walk the rest of the way to California if he has to.
