From anorexia to powerlifting champion

Sophia Ellis suffered from anorexia and bulimia, but has since gone on to become a powerlifting champion. The 24-year-old spent most of her university years suffering from a variety of eating disorders which she has now overcome. Sophia currently holds 14 powerlifting records alongside Commonwealth, British and English titles. A recent winner of the British Bench Press Classics, she will be representing Great Britain in the World Championships later this year. For International Women's Day, she implores women of all backgrounds to realise their goals through perseverance, consistency and enjoyment.
