Smith said his dreams were ‘largely built on the foundation of Jada’s sacrifices’

Will Smith had yet another surprise in store for those still following the saga surrounding him and his estranged wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, and her memoir.

The I Am Legend star – who trolled the world with a mock statement earlier this week – surprised Jada onstage in Baltimore, Wednesday, to declare his love for the woman he’s been separated from for seven years.

“I just really wanted to come out and just be here and hold it down for you the way you have held it down for me,” the Oscar winner told her during his appearance at the Enoch Pratt Free Library.

Smith acknowledged what Jada has made abundantly clear to the world in her new book, Worthy.

“We have had a very, very long and tumultuous [relationship]. We call it ‘brutiful.’ It was brutal and beautiful at the same time,” he said, the Baltimore Sun reported.

Jada reportedly covered her mouth with one hand while her estranged husband made the remarks.

The pair were joined by their children Jaden, 25, and Willow, 22, as well as Jada’s mom, Adrienne Banfield Norris, who celebrated her 70th birthday. Will’s 30-year-old son Trey Smith, whom he shares with ex-wife Sheree Zampino, also joined the family.

According to a report by the according to the Baltimore Banner, Smith said the couple’s relationship had been a “sloppy public experiment in unconditional love.”

“As I stand here before you today, I am happier than I’ve ever been in my entire life,” he said.

“I have achieved every single thing I have ever wanted in my entire life. There is not one thing left that I desire in this world — all of the awards, all of the money, the family — everything I’ve ever dreamed,” he added.

Smith thanked Jada for supporting his career and family, acknowledging that his dreams were “largely built on the foundation of Jada’s sacrifices.”

“Can you show up and love somebody for the rest of your life, even when you don’t agree with them?” Smith said.

“Jada is the best friend I have ever had on this planet and I am going to show up for her and support her for the rest of my life.”

Jada reported acknowledged the words, with a simple, “babe”, when Smith ended his speech.

Jada disclosed in an NBC News exclusive with TODAY’s Hoda Kotb that she and Smith, who wed in 1997, have been separated for seven years and do not currently live together.

She went on to say that it was “OK” if fans “feel betrayed” by learning the truth about her marriage.

“They can feel betrayed and that’s OK because life is messy and so is marriage and, unfortunately, it’s not anybody’s business what’s going on in the most inner sanctum of our house,” she told Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, adding, “We can’t live for other people.”

The day before, on October 16, she told Hoda in a live appearance on TODAY why she was haring the details of her relationship. “

I think at some point I had to talk about my journey,” Smith said. “I think there’s so many of us who hold so much, specifically women, and feeling like we’re going to be criticised, we’re going to be judged, you can’t say anything.”
