Pop fans are getting a major early-2000s reunion, as Liberty X and Hear'Say prepare to hit arenas together for a 13-date tour around the UK and Ireland in 2027.
The groups have spent six months quietly putting the plans together after deciding to reunite, with the news finally going public on Thursday.
Both acts were created during ITV's Popstars in 2001, which went on to launch their careers. Liberty X's line-up for the tour will consist of Kelli Young, Michelle Heaton, Tony Lundon, Jessica Taylor and Kevin Simm.
Hear'Say will return with Kym Marsh, Noel Sullivan, Suzanne Shaw and Danny Foster.
Myleene Klass will be missing from the line-up. The singer and presenter, who became one of the show's best-known stars, has said she cannot take part because she already has other commitments.
However, her former bandmates have suggested that a surprise appearance from her has not been completely ruled out.
For the groups, keeping the project secret for so long appears to have been almost as exciting as announcing it.
Young told the Mirror that revealing the news felt “like Christmas Eve”, explaining that an “old-fashioned ring round” had been made to find out whether everyone in Hear'Say wanted to take part.
Shaw said she had actually enjoyed having six months in which the reunion remained private.
Now that the secret is out, the two groups are looking ahead to their first shows, with both promising audiences a big “party” when the tour gets under way in 2027.
