Spider-Man fans spot hint at multiple Spideys

Not to get ahead of ourselves – but our wish is going to come true, isn’t it?

Marvel fans don’t let anything get past them and their reaction to the new Spider-Man trailer is the perfect case in point.

After the final No Way Home trailer dropped at 1am in the UK last night, plenty of people were busy losing their minds at seeing all the old villains returning from across the Sonyverse. However, some composed themselves long enough to keep their eyes on the real prize.

As highlighted by social media entertainment network Culture Crave, at the moment in which you see all three villains Electro, Sandman and Lizard leaping into battle against Spidey, a slightly longer cut of the trailer shows the lattermost being hit with what seems to be an invisible punch. Hmm, what could that be?

If you’ve seen the full trailer, you can clearly see that Tom Holland‘s MCU Spidey is already pictured jumping towards them – a collection of foes he has not yet faced in his timeline, remember – so who is this?

Moreover, while this looks to be quite obvious evidence of character(s) being edited out, what else could have possibly caused Lizard to recoil back like that? It’s a punch or a kick from a different Spider-Man and you can’t convince us any different.

That’s certainly what this edit seems to be suggesting and where all the rumours have been pointing, anyway.

As mentioned in the previous piece, with old nemeses returning from multiple different realities and timelines, it makes no sense to exclude the possibility that their relative Spideys won’t be accompanying them in multiverse chaos.

We’ll still have to wait for the film’s release on December 17 – or 15 for us Brits – but this looks as clear evidence as any that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are returning to don the familiar red and blue suit once again.
