Kanye West will reportedly pocket $25 million from the first of three Adidas Yeezy sales.
The sportswear giant was said to have been left with $1.3 billion of Yeezy shoes, almost eight months after splitting with West - now known as Ye - after he made antisemitic remarks.
Ye's wealth and cultural standing plummeted after making the comments, which he then made worse, by saying things like he loves Hitler. Adidas was one of a number of companies that dropped him.
Adidas took its time deciding what to do with the remaining Yeezy stock but ultimately decided to resume selling it.
The company, who also took a huge financial hit when they ditched Ye, said it would donate a portion of the proceeds to international organisations that support the groups that Ye offended.
Starting Friday, adidas began rolling out one of three releases to sell off the remaining Yeezy stock.
According to reports, 682,300 pairs of Yeezys were released, selling $170.5m, Hypebeast reported.
Despite Ye's deal with adidas being terminated, he still has a 15% royalty on sales.
It has been reported that the rapper made $25,586,250 on the first drop.
