JOE’s Weekly Cheat Sheet #9: Battlefield and Black Mirror

Everything you need for the next seven days.

JOE

Something everyone will be talking about…

The days are getting colder, the nights are getting longer and Netflix keeps cranking out top quality shows to keep you indoors.

Friday 21 sees the return of the mind-bending sci-fi series Black Mirror. Six new stories, all packed full of inventive head-fuckery. Save some spare time for the finale; it’s a doozy.

Something that’ll make you (seem) cooler…

Mundial Magazine

Football lifestyle magazine Mundial has been ticking along for just over a year now, and their most recent issue #7 is a corker. Featuring interesting perspectives on football enigmas like Gianluigi Buffon and Craig Bellamy, Mundial is the football mag for people who understand there’s more to football than what happens on the pitch.

Come for the sumptuous footballing photography, stay for the jokes about nutmegs.

Something you should listen to this week…

Lady Gaga-Joanne

Lady Gaga has a new album out. That is dears reader, capital letters Big Deal.

Joanne, Gaga’s fifth album already has some stellar cover art and a wonderful ballad in “A Million Reasons”. It’ll dominate the radio in the next few weeks, so you may as well jump onboard now.

Something that’ll change your life…

umbroo-boots-2

It’s getting cold, it’s getting muddy – your football boots will fall apart if you don’t look after them properly. Just like looking after your trainers, proper football boot care can be difference between your Predators lasting a few seasons, or giving up the ghost after a few months.

But to clean a special type of shoe, you need a special type of tool. Enter the Tyger Paw.

The Tyger Paw is a cleaning brush specialised for football boots. Nigh-on indestructible and with a combination of different brush shapes of varying length, the Tyger Paw makes cleaning your boots a doodle. They only cost a tenner and all. Now you got fresh boots every week for Sunday League, and everyone will think you’re a threat.

Something that’ll make you seem clever in the group chat…

The Grand Tour Amazon

Want to watch The Grand Tour next month, but turned off by prospect of being tied down to Amazon Prime?

The former Top Gear crew will be making their show available on catch up when The Grand Tour arrives late in November, so if you time your Amazon free monthly trial jusssst right, you should be able to watch the first eight episodes for nothing. Spread the word. Get The Grand Tour for free. Just make sure your mates don’t spoil it for you while you wait.

Something we highly recommend…

Battlefield1

After months of hype and speculation, (not to mention that impressive beta) new first person shooter Battlefield 1 launches on Friday, October 21.

EA’s new game has got tongues wagging ever since it unveiled its First World War setting earlier this year, but how does it play?

JOE gaming expert Matt Tate takes you on a journey through the game here.
