Gordon Ramsay and wife Tana welcome sixth child

'What an amazing birthday present'

The couple welcomed 7lbs 10oz Jesse James Ramsay, with the celebrity chef describing her as a "whopper."

In a post on Instagram on Saturday, Ramsay shared pictures of him, his wife and their newborn in hospital.

He had celebrated his 57th birthday, and described Jesse as an "amazing present."

He wrote: "What an amazing birthday present, please welcome Jesse James Ramsay, 7lbs 10oz whopper!!

"One more bundle of love to the Ramsay brigade!! 3 boys, 3 girls.... Done."

The couple did not say when Jesse was born.

The newborn is the latest addition to the Ramsay clan, which also includes Megan, the eldest, twins Jack and Holly, Matilda "Tilly" and Oscar.

A number of Gordon's celebrity friends commented on the post with congratulations and well wishes, including Hollywood star Jeremy Renner, TV chefs James Martin and Gino D'Acampo, Top Gear star Paddy McGuinness and First Dates' Fred Sirieix.

Meanwhile, former England and Chelsea footballer commented: "Congratulations mate!"

The celebrity chef married Tana in 1996, when he was starting to work his way into the world of fine dining and she was a school teacher.

Since then, Gordon has become one of the most famous chefs in the world, whilst Tana has forged a career in TV and writing.

Earlier this year, Ramsay opened up about the grief he and his family went through when his wife Tana suffered a miscarriage five months into her pregnancy in 2016.
