Disney is ‘consulting with members of the dwarfism community’
The upcoming Snow White reboot will not feature the seven dwarfs as we know them, as Disney is pursuing “a different approach” to the iconic characters.
After applauding Disney’s employment of West Side Story star Rachel Zegler, actor Peter Dinklage branded the reboot “f*cking backwards” during a recent appearance on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast.

He said: “Literally no offence to anyone – but I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White. You’re still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Take a step back and look at what you’re doing here. It makes no sense to me.
He continued: “You’re progressive in one way and you’re still making that f***ing backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together, what the f*** are you doing man?”
However Disney has since revealed they are taking “a different approach” to the characters “to avoid reinforcing stereotypes.”
The company also revealed they “have been consulting with members of the dwarfism community.”
They added: “We look forward to sharing more as the films heads into production after a lengthy development period.”
It’s understood that in lieu of the seven dwarfs, Disney will depict the characters as “magical creatures” and is currently looking for voice actors.
Directed by Marc Webb, who was behind both of The Amazing Spider-Man movies, the film will also star Red Notice‘s Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. The soundtrack will be written by La La Land‘s visionaries Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
