‘He’s just a very nice person’
Natalie Portman has revealed the lengths Chris Hemsworth went to in order to respect her vegan diet whilst they were filming Thor: Love and Thunder.
Portman plays Jane in the film, returning to a role she last played in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World.
In an interview with Capital FM, the actress said that her co-star, who plays Thor, didn’t eat meat in the hours leading up to a kiss scene they were filming.
“He’s really nice. The day we had a kiss scene he didn’t eat meat that morning because I’m vegan,” she told the radio station.
Portman went on to say how thoughtful this was considering it was not something she had asked him to do and that he did it of his own accord.
“Like, that was so thoughtful. That’s not something I’m angry about or care about, but he was just being thoughtful. He’s just a very nice person,” she continued.

The 41-year-old, who has been vegan since 2011, was being interviewed alongside Tessa Thompson who also stars in Love and Thunder.
Thompson joked that she “didn’t even know [Hemsworth] could go without eating meat.”
The fourth installment in the Thor franchise has so far grossed more than $315,500,000 at the global box office since its release on July 8.
But the film has been met with a much more lukewarm critical reception, and has an average rating of 67 percent from 351 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
It has also been on the receiving end of criticism regarding one part of the plot, involving Portman’s character, Jane.
