Johnny Depp’s lawyer Camille Vasquez has been promoted to partner at her company Brown Rudnick, meaning she is now an equal part of one of the most sought after law firms following victory in the high-profile case against Amber Heard.

The 37-year-old attorney was made a partner following an announcement from the firm’s official Twitter account on Monday. After four years at the company, they say her performance “proved to the world that she was ready to take this next step” and become a full partner.

As they detailed in the full statement, they felt her role on Depp‘s legal team “exemplified [the] teamwork and collaboration… and culture of excellence” at the company. Moreover, it would seem there are plenty of other employers now looking to get her on board – and that’s not just limited to legal services.

As well a number of Hollywood law firms reported to be trying to get acquire her services, sources told the New York Post that she has already received offers from several TV networks and cable channels hoping to have her “weigh in on legal matters and… speak with her about on-air opportunities”.

Vasquez quickly became an internet celebrity for multiple so-called ‘takedowns’ of Heard during the trial, as well as her rapport with the defendant – an aspect that particularly pleased fans of the 58-year-old actor.

As the industry insider went on to put it: “Talent agents are circling Camille because they recognize that she is the unicorn — a smart, savvy, poised attorney whose impactful performance during the trial propelled her to a rare level of visibility”. Another went on to remark that “the fact that she is a woman of colour is an added bonus”.

It is said that multiple suitors from both the legal and the entertainment industry are now “champing at the bit” to work with Vasquez and history has shown that TV exposure like she has already had with this case works wonders for a lawyer’s career. In fact, Depp himself hired another member of his legal counsel, Kathleen Zellner, after seeing her on Making a Murderer.
