Bran Stark finally comments on those theories that he’s the Night King

Paul Moore

He has very interesting views on the Wall and warging into a dragon also.

At what point do we have to stop using the spoiler alert warning? Ah, we’ve done it so many times that one more won’t hurt us.

Much like the Night King’s desire to turn every single person in the Seven Kingdoms into a wight, Game of Thrones fans are desperately reading and memorising every little shred of information that they can get their hands on. After all, we’re about to face those long nights without any new episodes to enjoy.

Season 7 ended with an almighty crash as the Wall came tumbling down, but with the army of the dead moving south, how can the realms of men stop them?

Cersei is already doing her very best to plot, scheme and maintain control over the Iron Throne, but to paraphrase Jon Snow’s words, she’ll be “ruling over a graveyard” if the Night King isn’t defeated.

Regarding the leader of the White Walkers, the most recent season has only seen his terrifying threat being raised. Not only does he now control a dragon, but it’s very likely that he’s a greenseer too.

Throughout the series, Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) has had a crash course in learning how to control his powers as the Three-Eyed Raven but plenty of people have commented on the similarities that Bran has with the Night King.

The latest theory is that Bran wears similar clothes and adopts the same walk as Jon Snow’s nemesis.

Again, the clip below shows what the Night King actually looks like in the show but the theories make for interesting reading.

After the events of the season finale, Isaac Hempstead-Wright spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and gave his take on the idea that Bran and the Night King are the same person.

“I don’t know. I think it’s a little bit far-fetched. But the whole Hodor thing, if I had read that as a theory, I would have said, “Nah, this is crazy.” So, who knows? Although I have to say, people are now comparing my face to the Night King and going, “Yeah! It’s him! It’s over, there’s no question about it!” And I’m like, “I don’t look that much like the Night King, do I?” he said.

Again, here’s how the Night King was created in the show.

Given that the army of the dead now have a dragon at their disposal, plenty of people have started thinking about a line that the Blood Raven (Max von Sydow’s previous incarnation of the Three-Eyed Raven) said to Bran, “you will never walk again, but you will fly.”

Granted, we’ve already seen Bran fly when he wargs into the ravens to spy on the Night King, but what about the dragons? Most imporatantly, can Bran take control of Viserion and prevent the Night King from unleashing icy-chaos in Westeros?

“That would be good, if he could warg into him. But I don’t know what the logistics of that are now, considering he’s under the control of the White Walkers and the Night King. Why hasn’t Bran ever just warged into the zombies and stopped him? I don’t know if he can do that. Who knows whether he actually can warg into Viserion, if that ever were to occur,” he said.

How cool would that be?

Ina  very interesting interview, Hempstead-Wright also gave us his opinion on the widely held belief that Bran would have a role to play in the destruction of the Wall. Cast your mind back to that scene when the Night King ‘marked’ Bran during his vision by touching his arm.

People assumed that this mark would negate the magical spells that exist in the Wall.

“Oh my God, yes! Tell me about it. I was so ready for so much hate. Even when the first episode came out: “I can’t believe you’ve come through the Wall! Why would you do that?” And I was like, “Just wait! Just you wait! This is not my fault!”

Ok, we’ll let you off on that one.
