Meghan could return to acting once the Sussexes are back in the UK

A major screen comeback could be in the works

The BBC reported that people close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not denied claims that Meghan has been offered a part, although no official details about the project have been announced. Variety has also reported that she is considering a return to the screen.

The speculation comes just two days after Harry and Meghan confirmed they are moving back to England, having spent the past six years living in California.

They are expected to return before the end of August, while their children are due to begin school in September.

Australian outlet news.com.au was the first to report that Meghan's possible involvement in a “top secret” UK production could be behind the couple's decision to return so quickly.

Senior entertainment reporter Bronte Coy, who broke the story, told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme the offer explained the speed of it all.

"This is such a key part of the puzzle. I think when we all heard that news that Harry and Meghan were moving here, and within a matter of days, and the kids were enrolled in school, everyone was asking, what is Meghan going to be doing? I’m told it’s significant, and she’s very excited about it."

Her acting return may be part of a much bigger career plan

Meghan has not taken on a regular acting role since leaving Suits, where she played Rachel Zane for seven seasons before her final episode aired in 2018. She has made a small return to acting since then, appearing in a cameo in the comedy Close Personal Friends.

Alongside a possible acting comeback, the BBC understands that Meghan is also hoping to continue developing her lifestyle brand, As Ever, as the couple begin their new chapter back in Britain.
