This British actor talks on his contention for the 007 role

Several names have been tied to the take-over of one of Britain’s most famous roles in cinematic history.

From Sean Connerie bringing Bond, James Bond, to life for the very first time in 1962, to Daniel Craig’s 2021 No Time To Die, fans are eager to hear who is up next.

Daniel Craig made his first appearance as 007 in Casino Royale in 2006 along co-star and antagonist, Mads Mikkelsen.

The 58 year old actor decided to call it quits, making a last appearance in 2021 as the world renowned secret agent in.

Of the several names mentioned to replace Craig, Theo James has had quite a remarkable impact towards fans and critics in regards to the freed role.

James has had a rising career, from Divergent to the first season of White Lotus, many have started to take note of his acting capabilities.

The 41 year-old actor has more recently taken a starring role in Guy Richie’s series, The Gentlemen, a closer fit to the James Bond aesthetic.

However, James has ruled himself out of contention to take over Daniel Craig’s tenure.

The A-list actor said: I’m definitely too old now, for one. But, yeah, that would be an example of a place you could never come back from.”

“What that does to your children, who are trying to find themselves in the midst of hyper-scrutiny and fame.

“None of that, to me, is worth it. At the time, it’s very intoxicating, being offered some huge, sexy part that would change your life forever.

“But it really wouldn’t ultimately be worth it.”

James added: “Imagine, suddenly, you and I cannot walk down the street.”

According to the actor, this stems from his Divergent days, where fans would walk up to him and proclaim their fandom.

“Obviously, it’s very nice, and you want to service someone who is invested in any way,” said James.

“But at the same time, there’s the existential problem of what is your job? What is identity? What belongs to the public and what doesn’t?”

With Theo James ruling himself out of the James Bond hotspot, we can only wait and see which direction the production decides to go.
