A Peaky Blinders bar is opening in the southwest

Paul Moore

By order of the Peaky Blinders there’s even free shots for anyone wearing a flat cap. Who’s going?

Over the course of three seasons, pubs have played a vitally important role in the plot of Peaky Blinders.

The Garrison is arguably the most famous watering hole in the beloved show because it’s the bastion of the Shelbys, but that’s not the only boozer that has featured prominently.

How many times have we seen Tommy or Polly order a raid on one of their rivals’ pubs?

Hell, Season 2 even starts with Tommy heading over to the Black Lion to find out who blew up The Garrison. While not exactly a pub, the Eden Club was also the location of arguably the most memorable scene in the show, the moment when Arthur brutally attacks Darby Sabini’s men.

Basically, boozers are very important when it comes to Birmingham’s most notorious gang.

If you fancy slamming back some whisky while thinking about your next bet at the races, there’s going to be a Peaky Blinders themed bar opening on 16 September in Devon.

The bar will be situated on Winner Street in Paignton and we’re told that anyone wearing a flat-cap will get a free shot.

Given the fact that Cillian Murphy hails from Cork, Ireland, it’s somewhat fitting that the bar was previously an Irish bar, named Paddy & Jenny’s.

As for the theme, it’s not just a novelty for the owner of the bar because his grandfather was actually a Peaky Blinder!

Visitors can expect to see a 1920s-style interior that will be able to seat 50 people and hold 120 people in total.

The menu will focus on rotisserie chicken dishes and, to fit in with the 1920s theme, the bar will mainly serve whisky from a selection of 14 different types – one of which will be 45% proof.

You can also get other spirits, ales and wines.

We’ll drink to that.
