A fly-tipper was hit with instant karma after he was caught on CCTV - and had his rubbish re-dumped on his own doorstep.
Dean Gauci, 38, was tending to a block of flats he manages in Cardiff on Friday (12/6) when he noticed seven sacks filled with household waste.
Determined to find the person responsible, the Airbnb maintenance worker decided to sift through hours of CCTV camera footage - and caught the culprit in the act at 9am on Friday.
He then spoke to neighbours, who quickly gave him the man's identity - and revealed he lived on the same street.
Dean marched to the man's front door and placed the rubbish on his doorstep before ringing the doorbell.
After opening the door and being told he had been caught on CCTV, the man simply said: "I was going to move this, sorry mate."
Dean, who runs Stay Care Operations Ltd., said: "People fly-tip here all the time - this is probably the 30th or 40th time people have done it.
"So I was so determined to find the person that did it.
"I could have taken that rubbish and charged the landlord to dispose of it, but I wanted to do the right thing and catch the guy.
"Before I saw the CCTV I even went through the bags looking for any address I could - and found Amazon boxes with the addresses peeled off them!"
Dean spoke to three neighbours to try and identify the culprit, and one pointed out they knew the man.
He said: "It turns out he lived 10 houses up from the property! He literally lived on the same street."
Dean then filmed himself leaving the dumped rubbish outside the culprit's front door before knocking.
He said: "I piled it right up on his door step to give him a taste of his own medicine. His response was funny, he must have felt stupid! But he dumped it."
