Having followed wins over Bournemouth and Chelsea with a European success over Rubin Kazan, there was a feeling of optimism around Anfield as Liverpool hosted Crystal Palace.

Having finished his season with LA Galaxy, Steven Gerrard was in attendance to watch his former side. https://twitter.com/BeritaLFC/status/663390332495593472 But after 21 minutes, the home side found themselves behind to a goal from Yannick Bolasie. Plenty of Liverpool fans were quick to point fingers at Alberto Moreno and Emre Can after the pair failed to clear the ball in the build up to the goal. https://twitter.com/rdgwrites/status/663392561923497984 But they weren't the only ones that were taking some stick from the home side's supporters. https://twitter.com/real_lfc_fan/status/663391539608072193 https://twitter.com/ahbza_/status/663391618913824768 But as half time loomed, Liverpool drew level thanks to another Philippe Coutinho goal - only this one was from within the penalty area. https://twitter.com/IndigoLFC/status/663396376320024577 The second half saw chances for both sides, with Palace's pace a constant threat. https://twitter.com/theonlybriang/status/663406479702106114 As time ticked away, desperation had started to creep in for Liverpool supporters. https://twitter.com/smiggy12lfc/status/663407906730192896 And while he might have been criticised by some earlier on, Adam Lallana had won someone over. https://twitter.com/clarke82stephen/status/663410020839768064 But with eight minutes left on the clock, Palace retook the lead when Scott Dann headed home a corner at the second attempt. https://twitter.com/EPLScorers/status/663411393450913796 And before the game was over, the optimism that had been so evident amongst the Liverpool supporters prior to kick off had completely vanished. https://twitter.com/anfieldegghead/status/663412324439490560 https://twitter.com/navtweetbhogal/status/663412499941822469 Some bemoaned their failure to convert chances early in the second half count... https://twitter.com/paul_b_watson/status/663412755601489921 ... while others bemoaned the fact that their side can't seem to overcome Crystal Palace. https://twitter.com/rijiriji/status/663413091091247104 https://twitter.com/anisah_lfc/status/663412893883506689 Others just wished they could play last weekend's opponents. https://twitter.com/amosun_olamide/status/663413399498395648 But is seemed that very few were blaming Jurgen Klopp. https://twitter.com/navtweetbhogal/status/663412499941822469   https://twitter.com/ole_lfc/status/663415315523588096 https://twitter.com/mensah03johnny/status/663414876115718144 And as for Crystal Palace? After an impressive result at Anfield, their fans were quick to remind the Liverpool manager of some of his earlier comments. https://twitter.com/hltco/status/663415206584913920 https://twitter.com/JOE_co_uk/status/663417267447799808
