According to Fabrizio Romano, Joshua Zirkzee to Manchester United is a done deal.

Reports suggest that they will not trigger the release clause but will pay upwards of €40m with better payment terms, in three years.

The Dutch forward will undergo a medical in the coming days and is expected to sign a contract until 2029 with an option to extend for another season.

It marks the first signing of the INEOS era.

Fabrizio Romano on X: “🚨🔴 EXCLUSIVE: Joshua Zirkzee to Manchester United, here we go! Man United will NOT trigger the clause but pay slightly above €40m with better payment terms, in three years. Zirkzee signs until June 2029 with option for further season. First signing of INEOS new era. 🇳🇱” / X

The former Bayern Munich star impressed in Italy last season and became a key transfer target for the Reds.

Zirkzee scored 12 goals and registered seven assists in 37 appearances for Bologna as they secured qualification to the Champions League.

The 23-year-old made his international debut against Turkey in the quarter-final of Euro 2024 and came off the bench last night against England.

It is hoped he will compliment 21-year-old Rasmus Hojlund who arrived from Atalanta last summer.

Zirkzee was spotted embracing Kobbie Mainoo, who could soon be his new teammate, after the game last night.
