Alphonso Davies’ new rap song receives less than impressive reviews

Maybe stick to the day job Alphonso

Alphonso Davies may be one of football’s hottest young talents, but it appears an alternative career in the music industry should be put on hold…at least for now.

The Bayern Munich full back is known for conjuring up magic on the pitch with his phenomenal speed, but his newly-found rap trio don’t seem to be making any fire in the booth.

While the Canadian was suffering from injury earlier this year, Davies had been working on his project and joined alongside two friends to create The Stugang Collective.

After forming the group, the three have been working on their music and recently released their first single, but its reaction has gone down like a lead balloon, with many listeners unimpressed by his musical output.

What was social media’s reaction?

As with most rap songs there’s the usual cliches of ‘sipping henny’ and ‘pulling up at scenes’ but judging by the reaction, most people won’t be adding it to their Spotify playlists anytime soon.

One person said: “Alphonso Davies talking about rolling with the stick and sipping Henny is hilarious to me. Bro you play football in Bavaria. Go and ski and drink beer man, the only gliding you should be doing is down the piste.”

Another said: “Alphonso Davies should stick to football.”

A third person said: “you’ve gotta be some fucking beg to think Alphonso Davies rap is anywhere near being good.”

As you can see, Davies hasn’t quite got the cult following just yet.

Of course, it’s early days into his foray into music and things can only get better. The 21-year-old won’t be selling out arenas and headlining festivals across the world in the short term though it seems.

Failing that he always has his football career, which he is actually quite good at, or keep at his entertaining Twitch streams.
