Interviewing is an important art

If you want to become a footballer reporter, you need to learn how to interview people. Whether you’re speaking to a famous person or a Z-lister, you need to engage with your subject and know your stuff.

As part of the challenge put to him by 888sport to go from Rapper to Reporter, Big Narstie has had to undergo a deep dive into journalism and in this episode in particular, interviewing.

Helping him on his quest this week is BT Sport presenter Lynsey Hipgrave, who used her years of experience to show Narstie the finer points of speaking to the stars of the footballing world, and what not do.

After a crash course in how to get the most out of an interview, Narstie uses the skills he’s learned on some of England’s biggest football legends, including Gary Lineker, Steven Gerrard and David Beckham.

Topics included David Beckham’s broken metatarsal, Steven Gerrard missing penalties and Roy Hodgson explaining rather hilariously about where it all went wrong.
