He thought he was hosting….
For too long, people have believed entering your 50's means it's time to slow down. People are scared to age, they see it as the end of their adventure, as the sun setting on their chances for exploration and as a time when life slows down.
Coventry Building Society has set out to challenge this, they see age as a launchpad to your next adventure. They invited comedian and Ted Lasso star Lloyd Griffith to run the Altra 13 Valleys Ultra to catch up with some over-50s to see what life really looks like for them.
Lloyd arrives and is shocked to find out they wanted him to actually run the race, not just host it. With a CBS Run Club in hand, Lloyd sets off from the start line before quickly stopping and faking the rest of his run.
Along the rest of the way through his phoney race, he catches up with some older racers who are actually competing. Unlike Lloyd, who is only in his 40s, these people aren’t slowing down or giving up. They are persisting, determined to embark on this adventure and complete the course ahead of them.
Coventry Building Society is a mutual financial community that understands people aged over 50 don’t want to slow down and submit to the mundane. They are on the hunt for their next big thrill.
