This 'brilliant' fitness app is helping people lose weight without having to cut calories.
The popular app, Simple, says that 'the easiest way to lose fat isn't cutting calories - it's walking - and you can forget the 10k step rule'.
On the daily 10k step rule many of us follow, Simple says: "Surprisingly, this rule wasn't based on science, it was a marketing tactic from a 1960s pedometer company."
"Research shows that while more steps are helpful, even a lower amount leads to health benefits," they add.
Walking is a low-impact, moderate-intensity exercise that minimises stress on joints like the hips, knees, and ankles, and you can discover the perfect daily amount for your personal health benefits via the Simple app.
This makes it a much safer choice than high-impact workouts, which is perfect if you're beginning your fitness journey, or have an injury or joint discomfort.
If you want to discover your optimal step count for your body to lose weight, you can take the Simple app's quick quiz which will give you a personalised plan.
The weekly plan, which will help you reach your goal weight, won't include crash diets, just 'smart and sustainable' fat burning.
It'll feature a progress tracker so you can watch the pounds come off, hydration, movement, and fasting trackers, and an in-app coach to answer any questions you might have.
This includes everything from healthy recipe and snack ideas to 24/7 workout suggestions.

Millions of users across the globe have tried and tested Simple app, giving it a 4.7 star rating on the App Store.

While a third said: "I've lost half a stone in two weeks when all year I couldn't stick to a diet. It counts down your fast, rates your meals, tracks your weight. It doesn't count calories (that part is up to you if you want to count them).
"It has helped keep me motivated and accountable. I can't recommend it enough."
