We are more shocked the sticky note stayed up

Just as the cost of living crisis grips the UK, a dad has shared his brutal approach to stopping his kids from turning up the heating.

Remember those quizzes inside teen mags that picked your celebrity girlfriend or boyfriend? Well, this is the exact same, except you get told to put on more layers instead.

The bright pink sticky note begins: “Before you turn the heating on: do you…”

The note then details four questions, with the first being “Do you have socks on?”

The second question is whether the cold person is wearing a long sleeve shirt, which is followed by a question on whether they are wearing underwear and pants. Finally, the father questions can “you see your breath?”

If they had answered yes to all the questions besides their breath being visible, then no heating for them. Also, if they answered no to everything besides breath, then the answer is still no. Either way, the heating stays off, with the dad suggesting they “put on clothes.”

The note has since been shared across the internet, on the TikTok page @mojomemes, and on Reddit, which shares various memes and viral content. The caption reads: “The dad has finally spoken.”

One person commented: “My uncle put a lock on ours like a case over it and locked it up.”

“Hahahaha that’s my husband there,” another added.

However, maybe the dad is onto something. After all, the cost of living crisis is in full swing across the UK.

Electricity and gas bills for a typical household will go up by £693 a year in April, a 54% increase and if inflation continues at the current rate the price of a pint could soar to £10.50.
